No Reason to leave
Building a hotel during the current economic climate is bound to create anxiety for both owners and operators. But to hear Thompson Hotels Co-Owner Stephen Brandman talk about the new 102-room Thompson Toronto, fears over issues such as capital funding were never realized, crediting the resolve of developers Peter Freed and Tony Cohen, as well as a relatively strong Canadian economy. "As far as new-build projects go, this one went very smoothly, ad that is why we are so excited about our new Thompson Residences [opening in 2013, across the street from the hotel with commitments for 160 of the 300 uits], which will feature North America's longest rooftop pool".
